Did You Know?
You Need to Cite the Sources. When using an article, a quote, or an adaptation, please state the originator. Most people don’t mind your using their ideas, but they do like to be given credit for them. (Your readers may want to read more from that source, so you are helping them too.) When quoting someone, please name the speaker/writer and the context in which that quote occurred (name of book, article, speaking engagement, etc.). Please cite just the source if you are unsure who the author is (for instance, if the text comes from a Web site in which an author is not clear). Sometimes you hear or read a quote and the author is not named. In this case, try looking it up on the Internet; there are many quotation sites there. If you still cannot find the author or source, write “Source Unknown” where you normally would add the author’s name. And if you adapt a quote or article, list it as “Adapted from (Author/Source Name).”

Packages to missionaries. Please do not send ANY package to ANY missionary without first checking to make sure the items are still wanted or needed by that missionary. Also, empty medicine bottles are NOT needed at this time.

Electronic Mission Connection—The first issue of the electronic Mission Connection is in production. If you have reminded your local presidents to send us their e-mail addresses, thank you. If you have yet to send them a reminder, please do so soon. So many readers have called and e-mailed, saying they do not wish to miss one issue.
Some of your district council members do not realize that the individual copies of the magazine mailed to their homes is one of the perks of being on the council. For those council members who cannot receive the magazine electronically, the NMI Office must know if they need an e-mail version or a hard copy mailed to them. (If the council members have notified us already, it is not necessary for them to tell us again.)

Global Glimpses (GG) will become an “electronic publication” beginning with the January/February/March 2009 issue. In the past a hard copy of GG was distributed to U.S.A./Canada churches with Mission Connection magazine. Since Mission Connection will be going electronic, so will GG. Watch for your copy of GG with the January, April, July, and October issues of Mission Connection. It will always be available for download from the NMI Web site.
Each issue of Global Glimpses (GG) is available in Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Copies will no longer be available via the postal service. Please let the NMI office know that you wish to continue receiving your copy of the French, Spanish, or Portuguese version. Simply e-mail NMI@nazarene.org, indicate which language(s) you wish to receive electronically, and confirm where the e-mail should be sent. All versions of GG are downloadable from the NMI Web site.

The 2009 General Assembly and Conventions Web site is up and running at www.gacorlando.org

“Reproducible” graphics pertaining to the NMI emphases will be posted on a monthly basis on the NMI Web site in conjunction with the electronic Mission Connection. A link to the reproducible will lead readers to each month’s emphasis.
