Resource Ideas from World Mission Broadcast
- WMB Banner: Talk with your pastor about where you can hang the new WMB cloth banner your church received. The banner is intended to be used over the next three years. This will allow more WMB funds to be used for ministry rather than disposable promotion resources.
- Reflecting God: When talking with your pastor about the WMB banner, also ask to see the demo CD of Reflecting God included in the WMB promotion packet. Reflecting God is a daily devotional series published by Nazarene Publishing House (NPH). WMB has partnered with NPH to make the devotionals available via traditional and new media (radio, podcast, social media, interactive Web, etc.). Work with your pastor to inform your congregation about how they can receive the devotionals. This will provide your members with an excellent resource and show them just one of the many ways their giving to WMB is used to encourage and disciple believers. (Instructions on how to receive Reflecting God are included in the letter the pastor received in the promotion packet.)
- Tell the Story: Nothing will be more effective in your promotion of the WMB offering than sharing stories of lives reached and changed for Christ through a WMB program. Share stories in your newsletters, worship bulletin, or on your church’s Web site. The best place to find WMB stories is on our Facebook Fan Page (www.facebook.com/WMBroadcast), and in the bi-monthly Transmission newsletter. Go to www.nazarene.org/subscriber.aspx to subscribe to Transmission (fill in your information and scroll down to click on WMB Transmission).
- Printed Resources: A WMB poster, bookmarks, and offering envelopes are available, free of charge, from Nazarene Publishing House (toll-free—1-800-877-0700 or www.nph.com). The resources will be available until they are gone. An order blank was enclosed in the mailing sent to the churches to the attention of the local NMI president.
- WMB Videos: Six unique, 30-second “drawing” clips were developed in 2009 to provide an interesting way for you to raise awareness of WMB. We suggest you use all the “drawing” clips in your promotion of WMB by showing one each week for the six weeks prior to the Sunday the offering is received. The clips can be found on:
-
WMB Audio Clips: Play these audio clips of current WMB programs in a service so the congregation can hear an actual WMB program that their giving funds. Remind people that the programs take the love of Jesus to people in their local and global communities.
